Men's Basketball Drop Final Road Game at Lewis

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - It was the Joshua Bocher and Max Booher show at Lewis on Thursday evening (Feb. 27), as the pairing combined for 46 of the Hawks 71 points in an 83-71 defeat to the Flyers to close out the road schedule for the season.

Bocher led all scorers with 25 points, his highest total of the season to go along with a team-leading five rebounds and a pair of steals. Booher dropped in 21 points with five strikes from deep for his second straight 20-point effort, good for his fifth of the season.

A trio of Booher threes along with a pair of Bocher buckets got the Hawks off to a hot start, opening a 13-7 advantage over the first five minutes. A 9-2 LU run over the next three minutes put the Flyers back out in front 16-15.

Lewis kept the pressure up, using an 11-3 swing in the following minutes to build a 27-18 edge at the 6:57 mark.

Trailing late in the half 34-26, threes from Booher and Jake Hamilton along with a Bocher layup erased the deficit in less than a minute of game time, before an LU three in the closing moments found the Hawks trailing 37-34 at the break.

A Camren Kincaid layup just over three minutes into the second half evened the tally at 44-44, as free throws from Bocher and Booher shortly after put the Hawks in front 48-47.

Tiernan Stynes gave QU its largest lead of the half with a three-pointer at the 14:31 mark to make it 52-49, as neither side was able to create much of an advantage until the 58-58 mark, where Lewis used an 11-3 swing to build a 69-68 advantage with 4:50 to play. QU wasn't able to creep an closer than a couple of possessions the rest of the way.

The Hawks offensive unit just couldn't get anything going, shooting 37.7% as a team from the field while managing just 29% from beyond the arch.
