Booher Named GLVC Freshman of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced its end of season major awards for men's basketball on Wednesday morning, naming Max Booher as not only a member of the All-Freshman Team, but the GLVC Freshman of the Year as well.

Booher led GLVC true freshmen in conference game scoring, pouring in a touch over 12.5 per game on 82 field goals made with 46 of them coming from beyond the arc in 587 conference minutes.

He appeared in a total of 25 games, starting in 24 of them where the Greenwood, Indiana native shot 42.4% from the field and 40.2% from deep while adding 67 rebounds, 17 assists, 10 steals and one block.

The Hawks' guard scored 13 a game overall, eclipsing the 20-point mark on five occasions with a career-high 23 coming against Maryville on 2/22.

Booher becomes just the second Hawk to earn the conference's top honor for a first year player. A quarter century before in the 2000 season, Brian McNeil claimed the other award.

Joining Booher in postseason recognition was the Hawks' James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honoree, Logan Robbins. The award highlights a player from each team in the conference that exemplifies excellence in sportsmanship.
