Hawks Picked 13th in GLVC Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Poll

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) released its 2025-26 Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll on Tuesday, with the Quincy University Hawks earning 51 points to be voted 13th in the league standings.

The Hawks enter their second season under head coach Brad Hoyt, who continues to guide the program through a period of roster reconstruction. Quincy finished the 2024-25 campaign with a 10-18 overall record, going 5-15 in conference play to place 13th in the GLVC standings.

This year's roster will look much different, as only four players return from last year's squad, three of whom were consistent starters. Hoyt and his staff have retooled with four intriguing transfers and five freshmen joining the lineup. For a more in-depth look at the 2025-26 roster, click HERE.

In the poll, Missouri S&T was voted as the preseason favorite after winning the GLVC regular-season title and earning the top seed in both the GLVC and NCAA Midwest Regional Tournaments. Lincoln followed in second after winning the 2025 GLVC Championship as the No. 4 seed, while Missouri-St. Louis checked in third after advancing to the GLVC title game and the NCAA Third Round.

Quincy's preparation for the new season begins immediately, as the Hawks travel to Western Illinois University on Wednesday, October 22, for a closed scrimmage before an exhibition matchup against Northern Illinois University. The Hawks will conclude the preseason with a home scrimmage against Millikin University inside Pepsi Arena.

The regular season officially tips off at home when Quincy hosts the Midwest Region Crossover, beginning on Friday, November 14, at 7:00 PM against Cedarville University inside Pepsi Arena.
