Katie Park Sets Another Program Record as Hawks Race at Gans Creek Classic

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Hawks men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Gans Creek Classic on Friday, Sept. 26. The men ran in the open 8K race while the women ran in the 6K open. Highlighting the day, Katie Park broke her second QU program record of the season. The women finished their meet in 16th place, while the men finished in 20th place.

Joseph Warning led the Hawks with a time of 29:52.0 and a 199th-place finish. Vicent Olsen crossed the line next for the Hawks at 30:25.6 and finished in 208th place. Oliver More rounded the Hawks' top three scores with a time of 31:14.4 and placed 216th in the race. Austin Haskins came in fourth in the team's lineup with a run of 31:26.3 and placed 220th in the standings. Logan Sutton helped the Hawks with a final time of 33:52.2 and placed 230th. Logan Meyer was the final Hawk to cross the line at 35:46.5 and secured a 240th-place finish.

Katie Park led the women with a record-breaking performance in the 6K, finishing in 47th place with a time of 23:20.9, setting a new QU program mark. Alexis Fonseca followed with a time of 25:17.0 in 132nd place, which now ranks 7th all-time in QU history for the 6K. Emily Faletti placed 153rd at 25:54.7, good for 10th all-time in program history. Bri Obermaier crossed at 27:51.6 (195th), and Mia Robnett rounded out the Hawks at 33:03.2 (224th).

The Hawks will return to action on Friday, Oct. 11, when they travel to Romeoville, Illinois, for the Lewis Crossover.
