QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University sprint football program was well represented on the Midwest Sprint Football League (MSFL) All-Conference teams, as multiple Hawks earned recognition for their standout performances during the 2025 season. Quincy had student-athletes honored across offense, defense, and special teams, while two Hawks were also named to the MSFL Champions of Character Team for their leadership on and off the field.
All-Conference Offense – First Team
Senior running back
CJ Jackson earned First Team All-Conference honors for the third consecutive season after once again serving as the engine of the Hawks' offense. In his final year in a Quincy uniform, Jackson rushed for 561 yards on 125 carries while scoring six touchdowns, averaging 93.5 yards per game and 4.5 yards per carry. Jackson closed his Quincy career with 1,498 rushing yards and 20 total touchdowns, cementing his status as one of the most accomplished players in program history.
All-Conference Offense – Second Team
Junior tight end Evan Lopez earned Second Team recognition after finishing third on the team in both receptions and receiving yards. Lopez hauled in 14 catches for 177 yards, providing a dependable target in Quincy's passing attack throughout the season.
Junior wide receiver Gregory Quince also landed on the Second Team following a breakout year as Quincy's top receiving threat. The Quincy native led the Hawks with 18 receptions for 352 yards and four touchdowns, averaging nearly 20 yards per catch and just under 60 receiving yards per game.
On the offensive line, juniors Andres Gastellum and Nate Engler were honored for their impact in the trenches. The duo played a key role in both the run game and pass protection.
All-Conference Defense – First Team
Junior defensive lineman Kaden Buchholz earned First Team honors after posting one of the strongest seasons on the Quincy defense. Buchholz finished second on the team with 50 total tackles and led the Hawks with 11.5 tackles for loss, consistently disrupting opposing offenses.
Linebacker Donnell Packer turned in a historic campaign en route to First Team recognition. Packer set the Quincy single-season record with 85 total tackles while also posting 8.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and five pass breakups. Week in and week out, Packer was a presence all over the field and one of the most impactful defenders in the league.
Defensive lineman Logan Cannady rounded out Quincy's First Team honors on defense after a dominant season up front. Cannady finished with 28 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and a team-leading two sacks. He also contributed four pass breakups, one quarterback hurry, one fumble recovery, and two forced fumbles.
All-Conference Defense – Honorable Mention
Junior linebacker Nicholas Hoffman earned Honorable Mention recognition after finishing third on the team with 34 total tackles, to go along with a tackle for loss, a pass breakup, and a forced fumble.
Junior defensive back Thomas Murray Jr. was also honored after anchoring the secondary with 27 tackles, one interception, and five pass breakups throughout the season.
Defensive back Gedeon Mbenga closed out the defensive selections for Quincy after totaling 14 tackles, one tackle for loss, one fumble recovery, and three pass breakups.
All-Conference Special Teams – First Team
Kicker and punter Jensen Laughlin earned First Team honors after a fantastic season on special teams. Laughlin recorded 25 punts for 948 yards, averaging 37.9 yards per kick, with eight placed inside the opponent's 20. He also registered three punts of 50 or more yards, consistently flipping field position for the Hawks.
Champions of Character Selections
Quincy was also represented on the 2025 MSFL Champions of Character Team, as Deuce Allaway and Austin Moore were selected by the university for their outstanding leadership and service. The Champions of Character Team recognizes student-athletes who exemplify the NAIA's five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership through their conduct on and off the field.
The All-Conference and Champions of Character honors reflect the continued growth of Quincy sprint football both competitively and culturally, as the Hawks continue to establish themselves within the Midwest Sprint Football League. With impact performances across every phase of the game and strong leadership within the locker room, Quincy's presence on the All-Conference teams highlights not only individual excellence but the collective progress of the program as it continues to build for the future.
