INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced its 2025-26 Men's Wrestling Preseason Coaches' Poll on Thursday, with the Quincy University Hawks receiving five points to place sixth in the league standings.
The Hawks enter their fourth season as a program under head coach Jimmy Eggemeyer and return a strong core to help anchor a large, youthful roster. Leading the way is junior Sabian Russell, who qualified for the NCAA National Tournament last year. The Hawks also bring back consistent starters Brian Farley, Callan Ivy, and Caleb Groff, providing valuable experience to balance a class of 17 freshmen.
McKendree was selected as the preseason favorite with 25 points and five first-place votes after winning its sixth GLVC title last season. Upper Iowa and Indianapolis followed in second and third, with Maryville and Drury rounding out the top five ahead of Quincy.
Quincy opens its season with an intrasquad meet on Friday, October 24, at 6:00 PM. inside Pepsi Arena. The Hawks then begin official competition at the Luther Hill Open on Saturday, November 1, in Indianola, Iowa.
