HAMMOND, Ind. - After picking up a pair of victories in day one of the Midwest Region Crossover the No. 19 Hawks drew undefeated No. 4 Ferris State for a top-20 showdown in the final match of the event. QU came on strong to start the match, taking the first two sets before the Bulldogs roared back to take the final three for the reverse sweep (25-23, 25-17, 14-25, 20-25, 13-25).
Set One
Ferris State jumped out to an early four-point advantage at 11-7 before a seven-point Quincy run propelled the Hawks ahead 14-11.
QU maintained the advantage until a five-point FSU run late in the set put the Bulldogs ahead 21-20. The Hawks came through when it mattered most, taking the final two points of the set to break a 23-23 tie and take the first set 25-23.
Set Two
This time it was Quincy that started of the set on the right note to the tune of a 12-8 advantage. Ferris State was able to equalize later int he set at 14-14 with a four-point run before subsequent runs of two, three and four points from the Hawks put the set out of reach at 23-17 QU.

Susanna Beretti closed out a 25-17 winner in the second set.
Set Three
FSU took nine of the first 11 points to build an early seven-point edge and held the Hawks at arms length for the remainder of the set, never allowing Quincy closer than six points the rest of the way as the Bulldogs cruised to a 25-14 win in the third.
Set Four
QU claimed four of the first five points of the set before Ferris State was able to even the tally shortly after at 7-7. Later in the set at 12-12, a six-point Ferris State run gave the Bulldogs a six-point advantage.
The Hawks showed some fight down the stretch, using a five-point run shortly after to narrow the margin to just two 20-18, doing so again at 22-20, but ultimately, not being able to complete the complete the comeback as FSU took the set 25-20.
Set Five
Quincy took five of the first six points of the set to open a five-point advantage in the race to 15. Ferris State used two three point runs and a two point run to move ahead 9-7.
The Hawks evened the tally at 10-10, 11-11 and 13-13 before finally surrendering a pair of points to drop the final set 15-13 and the match 3-2.
