Career (2021-24): Emma Wijnbergen will go down as one of the best women's volleyball players to touch the court at Quincy University. In her four year career, Emma appeared in 119 matches and totaled 430 sets played and helped Quincy to a 95-28 overall record, including a 32-3 record inside of Pepsi Arena, to go along with two GLVC Regular Season Co-Championships and three NCAA Tournaments berths. Individually, Wijnbergen tied the career kills record with 1678 total kills, good for 3.90 kills per set. She also totaled 56 assists, 81 service aces, 758 digs, and 226 total blocks, which put her at 1881.5 total points for her career.

2024 (Senior): In her senior season, Emma put together one of the greatest seasons in Quincy Women's volleyball history. Wijnbergen shattered the QU single-season kills record with 601 kills, which led the GLVC and ranked third in Division II. Her 5.09 kills per set also set a new QU single-season record, led the GLVC, and was fourth in Division II. Emma was also great on defense, with 292 digs (2.47 D/S) and 66 total blocks. She became the first-ever QU Women's volleyball player to be named first-team All-American by the AVCA and win GLVC Player of the Year. Emma had double-digit kills in all but one match and had 16 games with 20 or more kills, including a career-high 32 kills in a five-set win over Winona State (9/13/24).

2023 (Junior): In her third season with the Hawks, Emma became the fourth player in QU history to be named an AVCA All-American, being named as an honorable mention. That was one of many accolades she would earn in the 2023 season, as she led the Hawks with 562.0 points (5.06 P/S) and 490 kills (4.41 K/S), which were both second in the GLVC. She ranked 14th in all of Division II with her kill count and tenth in kills per set. She was also third on the team with 318 digs (2.86 D/S) and 64 total blocks. Emma recorded double-digit kills in all but two games and had 20 or more kills ten different times, including a 26-kill game in a four-set win over Wisconsin Parkside (10/13/23).

2022 (Sophomore): As a sophomore, Emma was a big reason why the Hawks had a stellar 28-3 season. In 31 matches and 107 sets played, Wijnbergen was second on the team in points (376.0, 3.51 P/S) and kills (346, 3.23 K/S). She also had 84 digs and 51 total blocks on defense. Emma had 18 games with double-digit kills, including a season-high 21 in a four-set victory over UMSL (9/23/22).

2021 (Freshman): In her first season with the Hawks, Emma appeared in 28 matches, seeing action in 94 total sets, where she was third on the team with 241 kills (2.56 K/S). She was also third on the team with 265.0 total points (2.82 P/S). She also had 64 digs and 45 total blocks on the defensive end. She made her collegiate debut against Lynn (9/4/21) and recorded her first career kill against Minnesota State (9/10/21). Wijnbergen had a season-high 18 kills on 28 attempts in a three-set victory over Truman State (10/9/21). With a stellar freshman season, Emma became the second-ever Hawk to win GLVC Freshman of the Year and the first since 2003.

Personal: Emma Wijnbergen hails from Meerlo, Netherlands, and graduated from Dendron College. She is the daughter of Bas and Astrid Wijnbergen and has two siblings, Rian and Freek. In her free time, Emma enjoys listening to music, working out, and reading, activities that reflect her balanced lifestyle and thoughtful personality.
