QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's volleyball team hosted nationally ranked #13 Loyola University Chicago on Friday (Feb 10) where they were defeated in straight sets (18-25, 21-25, 19-15).
 
Set 1
It was a very back and forth match in the starting points as both teams combined for six service errors in the first 10 points as it was tied 5-5. Loyola would go on a run and get eight of the next 10 points. The Hawks would cut the deficit down to 21-17 but Loyola would finish the set off strong 25-18. 
 
Set 2
The Hawks put up a very strong fight in the second set as they kept it very close throughout the set. Back to Back aces from Raje Alleyne would cut the deficit to only two at 13-11. An attacking error by the Ramblers would cut the QU deficit to only one at 15-14 but Quincy could never fully catch up and lose a close set 25-21
 
Set 3
Quincy limited Loyola Chicago to their lowest hitting percentage of the game in the third set at 0.318. The Hawks held it close in the beginning of the set once again but the Ramblers went on a 10-2 point run. Quincy went on a 9-3 run themselves late in the set but it was a little too late as they end up losing the final set 25-19.
