CASEYVILLE, Ill. - The Quincy University women's golf team competed with in the McKendree Bearcat Dual Gender this past weekend at Far Oaks Golf Club. The Hawks finished fourth out of eight teams in competition with a 980 overall score over three rounds.
Lily Vardaman led QU with a top 10 finish in seventh as an individual.
Vardaman opened with an 85 (+13) in round one before a 15 shot improvement in the afternoon session of day one for a round of two under 70, the low round of the tournament for the Hawks. An 81 (+9) in the final round gave Vardaman a 236 (+20) total score after 54 holes for sole possession of seventh.
Karlie Schnepp was the second finisher for Quincy at 248 (+32) for a T12 finish. An 84 (+12) in round one followed by a 79 (+7) in round two and an 85 (+13) in round three found Schnepp three shots in front of the Hawks third finisher,
Natalie Dearwester.
Dearwester finished in a tie for 16th place, firing rounds of 81 (+9), 91 (+19) and 79 (+7) for a 251 (+35) total score.
Laci Novosel finished in 26th position at 258 (+42) with back-to-back rounds of 88 (+16) on day one and an 82 (+10) on day two.
Addi Eades rounded out the Hawks effort with a 261 (+45) for 27th place. A rough first round of 98 followed by two much improved rounds of 80 and 83 in rounds two and three concluded Quincy's time at Far Oaks Golf Club.
In addition, two individuals competed for Quincy at the Culver-Stockton hosted Wildcat Fall Classic held at Spring Lake Country Club.
Ellissa Warren carded a round of 84 (+12) and
Payton Miller shot 96 (+24) in the event for QU.
The Hawks are back in action this weekend (Oct. 22-23) for the Bill Crabtree Invitational hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan at The Pearl Club in Owensboro, KY.
