ST CHARLES, MO. – The Quincy University men's and women's track and field program had a solid outing at the John Creer Invitational on Sunday (Apr. 11).
In the women's 4x400, Quincy took home the top prize running a 4:02.15, a time that was a whole second faster than the next placed team. On the men's side of the 4x400m, the Hawks placed second with a time of 3:30:09.
Olaolu Olatunde placed fourth in the 200 meters with a 23.17, and he was followed in fifth place by
Chadwick Stuart running a 23.26.
Janay Chapman in the women's 200m finished third with a 26.06, and her teammate
Breanna Pratt topped out a 26.60, a sprint that placed her seventh overall.
Emma Toulemonde was the lone Hawk representative in the 400m hurdles, and she was the runner up finishing with a time of 1:11.45.
In a shortened 4x100 meter field, Quincy's men ran a 44.15, a time that was good for a second place finish.
Two athletes finished in top eight in the men's 800 meters as
Timothy Legemet ran a 1:59.31 which was good enough for third.
Joel Forbes ran a time of 2:03.51 and placed sixth. On the women's side,
Athena Lesiotis' time of 2:30.35 placed her third in a deep field.
In the field events,
Maggie Porterfield saw a fifth place finish in the pole vault with a vault of 2.75 (9-0.25).
Mateusz Dziekan on the men's side topped out at 3.80 (12-5.50) a leap high enough for fourth overall. In the men's high jump,
Justin Tarplin launched a distance of 1.65 (5-5.0) as he earned a fifth place finish.
De'Andre Cornwall finished in fourth in the women's long jump with a leap of 4.82 (15-9.75), and
Kenya Sharpe jumped a 4.51 (14-9.75) which placed her in the top eight.
