KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Quincy University men's and women's track & field teams completed their seasons on Saturday (May 5) at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Kirksville, Missouri.
The men's team finished in 12
th place while the women's team turned in some personal best performances.
For the men,
Kolton Grawe scored the lone two points for the Hawks by completing the 400-meter dash in 50.21 seconds, good enough for seventh in the conference.
Josh White (52.45 seconds) also competed in the event.
Grawe also sprinted to a 13
th place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.59 seconds.
Kevin Saunders finished five places behind with a time of 23.32 seconds.
Saunders finished in 16
th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.56 seconds and leaped 5.75 meters in the long jump competition.
The Hawks saw another 16
th place finish in the javelin as Zach Reider recorded a throw of 39.13 meters.
Logan Waid competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase, posting a time of 11:26.89.
Will Kipping ran the 800-meter race in a time of 2:03.00 while
Josiah Prenger completed the 5000-meter run in a 18:22.30 pace.
Tyrone Hicks rounded out the individual events for the Hawks in the shot put and discus competitions. Hicks posted a throw of 11.23 meters in the shot put and finished in 17
th place in the discus with a final throw of 36.91 meters.
The team of Saunders, White, Kipping, and Grawe finished in 11
th place in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:29.30.
On the women's side,
Aleksandra Petrovic saw the highest finish for the Hawks. The sophomore from Belgrade, Serbia finished in 10
th place in the javelin with a throw of 32.88 meters.
Maggie Porterfield (26.13 meters) also competed in the event.
Porterfield pulled in an 11
th place finish in the pole vault competition, clearing a height of 2.65 meters.
Hannah Horman completed the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 13:00.16, a personal best on the season.
The Hawks saw another personal best in the 200-meter dash as Dami Adeyinka sprinted to a time of 27.01 seconds. Adeyinka (13.57 seconds) also competed in the 100-meter dash.
Athena Lesiotis recorded her best time of the season in the 800-meter run with a final time of 2:30.45. Lesiotis (5:09.30) also competed in the 1500-meter run.
Indianapolis won the GLVC Championship for the men while Lewis won the women's team title for the fourth straight year.
