FAYETTE, Mo. - The Quincy University men's and women's track & field teams were in action on Saturday (April 6) at the Central Methodist Invite in Fayette, Missouri. The men finished in 16th and the women scored twelve points to finish in 12th.Â
On the women's side,
Hannah Horman earned her second straight top-5 finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Horman placed fourth with a time of 13:16.38. She also competed in the discus with a throw of 19.57 meters.
Maggie Porterfield finished in seventh place in the pole vault competition with a height of 2.6 meters. Porterfield also took seventh place in the javelin with a throw of 27.86 meters.
Aleksandra Petrovic also competed in the event and posted a throw of 26.75 meters.Â
Dami Adeyinka completed the 200-meter dash in 27.41 seconds, placing ninth.
Caitlyne McGarrity competed in the high jump competition and leaped to 1.4 meters to finish in 13th.Â
In the 400-meter dash,
Athena Lesiotis posted a time of 1:07.11. Lesiotis and
Ashton Leslie also competed in the 1500-meter run, finishing with times of 5:14.54 and 6:19.45, respectively.
 On the men's side,
Logan Waid earned a top-10 finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. He finished with a time of 11:32.73, good enough for eighth place in the event. Waid also competed in the 800-meter run, posting a time of 2:15.26.
Kolton Grawe rounded out the top-10 finishes for the Hawks, finishing in ninth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.53 seconds.
In the 1500-meter run,
Will Kipping finished with a time of 4:23.35.
Tyrone Hicks and
Eric Venvertloh both competed in the shot put competition. Hicks finisehd with a throw of 10.57 meters and Venvertloh threw 7.69 meters. Both also competed in the discus. Hicks finished in 11th with a throw of 37.97 meters and Venvertloh posted a throw of 21.57 meters.
Justin Tarplin rounded out the field events for QU, leaping to 1.8 meters in the high jump competition.
Next up for the Hawks
Both teams are back in action on Saturday (April 13) in Liberty, Missouri at the Darrel Gourley Open hosted by William Jewell College.Â
