ROLLA, Mo. - The Quincy University men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Dewey Allgood Invititational hosted by Missouri S&T Saturday (April 20). No team scores were kept at the event but the Hawks garnered several solid finishes.
On the women's side,
Aleksandra Petrovic placed seventh in the javelin throw with a heave of 31.99 meters.
Maggie Porterfield also competed in the event and finished ninth with a throw of 30.17 meters. Petrovic also competed in the shot put with a throw of 8.57 meters and an 18th-place finish. She completed her day by leaping 3.84 meters in the long jump.
Hannah Horman recorded her fourth straight top-10 finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. She finished in tenth place with a time of 13:37.58.Â
Dami Adeyinka sprinted to a 16th-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.39 seconds. Adeyinka also competed in the 200-meter dash, recording a time of 27.20 seconds.
Athena Lesiotis and
Ashton Leslie rounded out the competition for the Hawks in the 1500-meter run. Lesiotis recorded a time of 5:19.18 and Leslie crossed the finish line with a time of 6:16.19.Â
Kolton Grawe led the men's team with a sixth place finish in the 400-meter dash, finishing with a time of 50.85 seconds.
Josh White was close behind, finishing in tenth place with a time of 52.42 seconds. Grawe also competed in the 100-meter dash, sprinting to an 11.37-second finish.Â
Zach Reider saw a 12th place finish in the javelin competition. He recorded a throw of 42.04 meters in his first competition of the spring.
Tyrone Hicks (34.08 meters) and
Eric Venvertloh (29.81 meters) also competed in the event.
Hicks and Venvertloh both competed in the shot put competition as well. Hicks improved his distance from last week, posting a throw of 11.03 meters. Venvertloh finished with a throw of 7.55 meters.Â
Josiah Prenger competed in the 5000-meter run, finishing with a time of 18:42.69.
Will Kipping rounded out the competition on the men's side by improving his 800-meter run time. Kipping completed the run with a time of 2:09.83. He also competed in the 1500-meter run, finishing with a final time of 4:28.59.
Next up for the Hawks
Both teams travel to Kirksville, Mo. on Wednesday (April 24) to compete in the Quad Meet hosted by Truman State University.Â
