Hawks Wrap Up Indoor Season at GLVC Championships

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University track and field teams completed their indoor seasons this weekend (Feb. 27-28) at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships in Kenosha, Wis.

The men's and women's teams each finished 12^th at the meet – the first conference championships the Hawks have competed in the indoor season.

On the women's field side, sophomore Marie Rush finished 26^th in the shot put with a throw of 7.27 meters. Teammate, freshman Mattie Hoiness was just behind her with a heave of 7.07 meters.

In the 800-meter race, freshman Kellyn Lamore clocked in with a time of 2:27.29 to finish in 19^th place.

A trio of Lady Hawks ran in the 1-mile run with junior Elizabeth Leden leading the way with a time of 5:25.04, good for 14^th place. Senior Brittney Klosak was 30^th with a time of 6:06.75 while freshman Ashley Doellman crossed the line in 6:50.75.

The distance medley relay team finished 13^th, clocking in at 13:53.53. That team consisted of Lamore, Doellman, Klosak and Leden.

On the men's side, senior Sam Rohr was 22^nd overall in the shot put with a toss of 10.64 meters. Sophomore Jake Bass-Barber threw his implement 10.00 meters while junior Robbie Overstreet rounded out QU's representation with a throw of 9.71 meters.

Sophomore Conner Gibbons competed in the 800-meter run and finished with a time of 2:13.24. Senior Michael Crotteau was 23^rd in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:35.68.

The teams will now have three weeks off before returning to the track on March 19 at the Wildcat Open in Canton, Mo. to begin the outdoor season.
