Indoor Track & Field Opens Season In Iowa

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University women's and men's indoor track & field teams competed in the first event of the season on Saturday (Dec. 5) in the Dutch Holiday Preview, hosted by Central College in Pella, Iowa.
 
The women's team placed ninth out of 13 teams, while the men did not receive a team score.
 
On the women's side, Megan McClure came out with a third place finish in the 3000 meter run with a time of 11:38.23 to score six points for the Lady Hawks.
 
Kellyn Lamore was sixth in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:47.09. Elizabeth Leden placed ninth in the same race, clocking in at 1:51.30.
 
Ashley Doellman finished the 1000 meter run in just a hair under four minutes with a time of 3:59.26 to finish in seventh place.
 
Lamore and Leden also competed in the long jump with Lamore placing 15th with a distance of 4.19 meters. Leden was 17th with a leap of 4.02 meters.
 
On the men's side, Derek Armstrong was 24th in the 300 meter run with a time of 39.66 seconds.
 
Dillon Butler placed 16th in the shot put with a long throw of 11.54 meters. Robbie Overstreet was 21st with a distance of 10.73 meters.
 
Both teams return to action on Jan. 23 at the Snowbird Open, hosted by Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill.
