QUINCY, Ill. – Quincy University senior middle blocker Erin Matzke was named to the CBU Patriot Day Classic All-Tournament Team after helping the Hawks post a perfect 4-0 weekend in Memphis.

The honor marks the second all-tournament selection of the season for Matzke, who was also recognized following the season-opening Warrior Invitational.

Quincy extended its winning streak to eight matches during the weekend, earning victories over LeMoyne-Owen, Miles, Southern New Hampshire and host Christian Brothers. The Hawks swept both LeMoyne-Owen and Miles before earning four-set victories over Southern New Hampshire and Christian Brothers.

Matzke was highly efficient throughout the tournament, totaling 35 kills across 14 sets for an average of 2.50 kills per set. She committed just four attacking errors on 58 attempts, finishing the weekend with a .534 hitting percentage.

The senior also contributed one assist, eight digs and 10 total blocks while accounting for 43 points, an average of 3.07 points per set.

Her top performance of the weekend came in Quincy's 3-1 victory over Southern New Hampshire. Matzke recorded 11 kills on 14 attempts without an error, hitting .786 while adding three blocks.

Through 12 matches and 44 sets this season, Matzke has recorded 106 kills, averaging 2.41 kills per set while hitting .348. She has also totaled 42 blocks, averaging 0.95 per set, and leads the way with 133.5 total points at 3.03 points per set.

Matzke also reached three career milestones during Quincy's most recent match, surpassing 600 career kills, 800 career points and 300 total blocks.

Matzke and the Hawks now turn their attention to Great Lakes Valley Conference play, beginning with a challenging road weekend. Quincy travels to Romeoville, Illinois, to take on Lewis on Friday at 6:00 PM before facing No. 24 Indianapolis on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
