QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University men's basketball program has released its 2026-27 schedule as the Hawks prepare for their third season under head coach Brad Hoyt.

Quincy is coming off a 12-16 campaign in 2025-26, including a 7-13 mark in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The Hawks will look to take another step forward this season as they chase their first GLVC Tournament appearance under Hoyt and their first as a program since 2023.

The 2026-27 schedule features 28 regular-season games, including eight non-conference matchups and 20 GLVC contests.

Season Opener Against Missouri Western

Quincy opens the season at home on Monday, Nov. 9, against Missouri Western out of the MIAA.

The Griffons went 21-12 overall and 12-7 in conference play last season before falling in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Missouri Western leads the all-time series 4-3 dating back to 2007, with last season's meeting coming down to the final minutes in St. Joseph, Missouri. The Griffons escaped with an 82-80 win, giving the Hawks an early chance to respond in front of their home crowd.

GLVC/G-MAC Crossover

The Hawks will then travel to Cedarville, Ohio, for the GLVC/G-MAC Crossover, where they will face Cedarville and Findlay on back-to-back days. This will mark the sixth straight season Quincy, Cedarville and Findlay have all met in the early portion of the schedule.

Quincy opens the crossover against Cedarville on Friday, Nov. 13. The Yellow Jackets finished last season 13-15 overall and 8-12 in G-MAC play. The Hawks defeated Cedarville 89-80 in last year's season opener inside Pepsi Arena, snapping a three-game losing streak in the series. Quincy leads the all-time series 5-3 dating back to 2016.

The Hawks will then take on Findlay on Saturday, Nov. 14. The Oilers went 18-12 overall and 11-9 in the G-MAC last season. Findlay defeated Quincy 75-74 inside Pepsi Arena last year and holds an 8-2 advantage in the all-time series dating back to 2003.

Final Non-Conference Stretch

Quincy returns home on Tuesday, Nov. 17, to welcome nearby NAIA opponent Hannibal-LaGrange to Pepsi Arena. The Trojans, located just over 30 minutes from Quincy, finished last season 19-8 overall and 12-2 in the AMC. The Hawks defeated HLGU 83-51 last season in front of the home crowd.

The Hawks then hit the road for two straight non-conference matchups against Hillsdale and Delta State.

Hillsdale finished last season 11-18 overall and 8-12 in the G-MAC. The Chargers came to Pepsi Arena for the Hansen-Spear Classic last season, with Quincy earning a 63-61 victory. The two programs have met just twice, splitting the series 1-1.

Quincy will then travel to Cleveland, Mississippi, to face Delta State, a program the Hawks have not seen since the 1970s. Quincy won the only previous meeting between the two programs, defeating the Statesmen 99-83 in 1973. Delta State, a member of the Gulf South Conference, went 11-17 overall and 8-14 in league play last season.

First Taste of GLVC Action

The Hawks begin GLVC play at home with matchups against Upper Iowa and Indianapolis, two teams they will see again later in the season on the road.

Upper Iowa went 17-11 overall and 12-8 in the GLVC last season, earning the No. 7 seed in the conference tournament. The two teams split last season, with both road teams picking up wins. Upper Iowa defeated Quincy 96-92 in overtime inside Pepsi Arena before the Hawks answered with an 85-66 victory in Fayette. Since 2010, Quincy is 3-8 against the Peacocks and is still looking for its first home win in the series.

Quincy then hosts Indianapolis on Saturday, Dec. 5. The Greyhounds went 17-13 overall and 14-6 in the GLVC last season, securing the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament. This will be the final season of conference action against UIndy before the Greyhounds transition to the G-MAC. The teams split two meetings last year, with the road team winning both games. Indianapolis won 82-76 inside Pepsi Arena before Quincy closed the regular season with an 83-82 road win over the Greyhounds.

Hansen-Spear Classic Before the Holidays

The Hawks will close the 2026 portion of the schedule with the Hansen-Spear Classic inside Pepsi Arena.

Quincy opens the event on Wednesday, Dec. 16, against Northern Michigan, one of the top teams on the non-conference schedule. The Wildcats went 28-7 overall and 16-4 in the GLIAC last season, reached the GLIAC Championship game and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The following day, Quincy will face Harris-Stowe in its final non-conference matchup of the regular season. The Hornets, an NAIA program and fellow AMC member with Hannibal-LaGrange, went 8-18 overall and 4-10 in conference play last season. Quincy has faced Harris-Stowe once, winning 106-74 in 2007.

Conference Play Takes Over in January

From January on, Quincy will shift fully into GLVC play.

The Hawks open the new year on the road at Lewis on Saturday, Jan. 2. The Flyers finished 4-24 overall and 2-18 in conference play last season. Quincy defeated Lewis 72-62 inside Pepsi Arena last year, and the two programs will meet twice this season. Dating back to 1975, Lewis leads the series 40-22, but the last 10 meetings have been split 5-5.

Quincy returns home two days later to face Illinois Springfield. UIS went 17-12 overall and 13-7 in the GLVC last season, earning the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament. The Prairie Stars won last year's lone meeting 91-60 inside Pepsi Arena. Since 2002, the series is even at 13-13.

The Hawks then travel to Missouri-St. Louis for the first of two meetings with the Tritons. UMSL went 16-13 overall and 10-10 in the GLVC last season, finishing ninth and just missing the conference tournament. The Tritons won both matchups last season and have controlled the series since 2010 with a 19-8 advantage.

Quincy returns home to face McKendree on Saturday, Jan. 9. The Bearcats went 22-8 overall and 14-6 in the GLVC last season, earning the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament. McKendree defeated Quincy 86-56 last year and holds a narrow 10-8 edge in the series dating back to 2013.

Road Challenges Continue

The Hawks then hit one of the toughest road stretches of the season, beginning with a trip to Indianapolis on Wednesday, Jan. 13. The Greyhounds went 10-4 at home last season, while Quincy will look to build on last year's one-point road win in Indianapolis.

Quincy remains on the road Saturday, Jan. 16, against Missouri S&T. The Miners went 19-9 overall and 13-7 in the GLVC last season, earning the No. 5 seed in the conference tournament. Missouri S&T won both meetings against Quincy last year and has won seven straight in the series. The Hawks still lead the all-time series 25-14 dating back to 1984.

The road stretch continues Monday, Jan. 18, at Truman State. The Bulldogs went 12-16 overall and 8-12 in GLVC play last season. Truman State won last year's meeting 91-88 in overtime in Kirksville. Dating back to 1920, Truman leads the all-time series 71-64 and has won three straight against the Hawks.

Second Half of GLVC Play

Quincy returns home on Wednesday, Jan. 20, for its second matchup of the season against Lewis. The Flyers went 2-11 away from home last season, while the Hawks will look to protect Pepsi Arena in the rematch.

The Hawks then host Rockhurst on Saturday, Jan. 23, in the lone regular-season meeting between the two programs. Rockhurst was the GLVC regular-season champion last year, finishing 23-7 overall and 17-3 in conference play before falling in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Hawks lost last year's meeting 82-69 in Kansas City. Since 2005, Rockhurst holds a slight 18-16 advantage in the series and has won five straight.

Quincy travels to Illinois Springfield on Wednesday, Jan. 27, for the second meeting of the season against the Prairie Stars. UIS went 12-3 at home last year inside TRAC.

The Hawks close January at William Jewell on Saturday, Jan. 30. The Cardinals went 22-10 overall and 15-5 in the GLVC last season, earning the No. 2 seed before winning the GLVC Tournament. William Jewell also reached the NCAA Tournament before falling in the first round. Quincy leads the series 13-10 dating back to 2011, but the Cardinals have won four straight, including a 63-51 victory last season.

February Push Toward the Postseason

Quincy opens February at home against Missouri-St. Louis on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The Tritons went 4-7 on the road last season, and the Hawks will look to split the regular-season series in the second matchup between the teams.

Drury comes to Pepsi Arena on Saturday, Feb. 6, for the lone meeting between the programs. The Panthers went 17-14 overall and 10-10 in conference play last season before making a run to the GLVC Championship game as the No. 8 seed. Quincy and Drury split last season, with both teams winning at home. Since 2008, Drury holds a 14-11 edge in the series, but Quincy has won seven of the last 10 matchups.

The Hawks then go back on the road for three straight games, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Maryville. The Saints went 3-25 overall and 1-19 in conference play last season. Quincy defeated Maryville 93-85 in St. Louis last year and has won six straight in the series. Since 2010, the Hawks are 17-7 against the Saints and have won nine of the last 10 meetings.

Quincy travels to Southwest Baptist on Saturday, Feb. 13. The Bearcats finished 14-14 overall and 8-12 in the GLVC last season. SBU won last year's lone meeting 84-58 inside Pepsi Arena and has won three straight against the Hawks. Since 2007, Southwest Baptist holds a 9-2 record against Quincy and is 6-0 at home in the series.

The final road game of the regular season comes Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Upper Iowa. The Peacocks went 10-3 at home last season, while Quincy will look to repeat last year's strong road performance in Fayette.

Final Homestand

Quincy closes the regular season with two games inside Pepsi Arena.

The Hawks host Lincoln on Saturday, Feb. 20, in the lone meeting between the teams. The Blue Tigers went 11-17 overall and 5-15 in GLVC play last season. Quincy swept both matchups against Lincoln last year and is 3-3 against the Blue Tigers since 2018.

The regular season concludes Wednesday, Feb. 24, against Truman State. The Bulldogs went 5-7 on the road last season, while the Hawks will look to defend home court in the second meeting between the longtime rivals.

Quincy will be looking to secure a top-eight seed and return to the GLVC Tournament for the first time under Hoyt and the first time as a program since 2023. The GLVC Tournament is scheduled to take place March 4-7.
