QUINCY, Ill. – Quincy University head men's basketball coach Brad Hoyt has announced his coaching staff for the 2026-27 season, featuring a promotion for Justin Bottorff, the addition of assistant coach Sam Bledsoe and the return of the remainder of the Hawks' staff from a season ago.

Hoyt enters his third season at the helm of the Quincy men's basketball program after guiding the Hawks to a 12-16 record during the 2025-26 campaign. Quincy improved by two victories from Hoyt's first season, when the Hawks finished 10-18.

Bottorff enters his third season at Quincy and has been elevated to associate head coach ahead of the 2026-27 season. He has been a member of Hoyt's staff throughout the first two seasons of his tenure with the Hawks.

Joining the staff for his first season is Bledsoe, who comes to Quincy after spending the previous two years as a graduate assistant with the Southeast Missouri State University men's basketball program.

During his first season with the Redhawks, Bledsoe helped Southeast Missouri State capture the 2024-25 Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship. He also brings extensive experience in individual skill development, working with players ranging from the junior high to collegiate levels.

A native of Charleston, Missouri, Bledsoe began his collegiate playing career at Southwestern Illinois College, where he competed as a guard from 2020-22 before transferring to the University of Missouri-St. Louis for his final two seasons. During his time at UMSL, Bledsoe was part of the Tritons' run to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.

Bledsoe also enjoyed a standout prep career at Charleston High School, helping the program reach the MSHSAA Final Four in three consecutive seasons from 2018-20. He earned MSHSAA All-State honors in 2020 and finished his career as Charleston's record holder for 3-pointers made in both a single season and a career.

Bledsoe earned his associate degree from Southwestern Illinois College in 2022 before graduating from UMSL with a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 2024.

The remainder of Quincy's coaching staff returns intact for the upcoming season.

Cawhan Smith enters his second season as a graduate assistant with the program, while Bob Sheffield and Mike Kindhart each return for their third seasons as volunteer assistant coaches.

Hunter Voth also begins his third season with the Hawks and will continue in his role as volunteer assistant to the head coach.

The Hawks will begin their third season under Hoyt during the 2026-27 campaign as Quincy looks to continue building on its progress over the first two years of his tenure.
