INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - As Quincy University's women's soccer enters the 2026 season, the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced the preseason poll and the Hawks have been picked to finish 5th with 139 points. The preseason poll is selected by the league's head coaches who are not permitted to vote for their own team.
Head coach Taylor Reis enters his second season after finishing 10-4-4 overall and 9-2-3 in conference play last year. Last season was the program's best since 2018 as the women earned a spot in the GLVC Tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season. This year brings a skilled group of returners as well as strong newcomers who look to take another step towards the top of the conference.
For returning players, senior Rebecca Rheinheimer comes off a spectacular season for Quincy after leading the team with 10 goals and 24 points. She earned First Team All-GLVC and D2CCA First Team All-Midwest Region honors. Rheinheimer will be an offensive weapon as the Hawks look for scoring opportunities.
Jessie Newton steps back on the field for her senior year after providing Quincy with 6 assists, as well as previous collegiate experience at Garden City Community College where she recorded 18 goals and 20 assists.
The sophomore goalkeeper, Devin Tracy, returns after a superb freshman year recording 53 saves and 8 shutouts. Tracy earned herself Third Team All-GLVC recognition. Additionally, the Hawks return key players including defenders Gracie Vierra and Marina Oberschmid who provided consistency as anchors for the line of defense against opponents.
The Hawks have a firm foundation to build off this year and are eager for competition. The new season brings new opportunities and challenges for everyone involved.
The Hawks begin their season on Thursday, August 27th at 5:30 PM at Legends Stadium.
