Shoemaker Named GLVC Coach of the Year; Five Hawks Earn All-Conference Recognition

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Quincy University STUNT was heavily recognized as the Great Lakes Valley Conference announced its inaugural postseason awards ahead of the first-ever GLVC STUNT Tournament.

Head coach Diane Shoemaker was named the inaugural GLVC Coach of the Year after leading the Hawks through a strong second season of competition. Shoemaker guided Quincy to a 6-9 overall record in 2026, helping the program improve its winning percentage by .275 from its inaugural 2025 campaign. Under Shoemaker's leadership, the Hawks continued to show major growth throughout the season, earning key wins and remaining competitive against some of the top teams in the conference.

Shoemaker's impact was also evident through the development of her roster, as five Hawks were recognized with All-GLVC Honorable Mention honors. Senior Gabi Cissna, sophomores Rylee Mellon and Tanna Trone, and juniors Josey Miller and Sydney Sherman were all selected by the conference for their performances throughout the season.

In addition to the individual honors, Quincy was named the recipient of the GLVC STUNT James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award. The award recognizes the program that best exemplifies sportsmanship and respect throughout the season. Grace Welch was selected as Quincy's individual Sportsmanship Award recipient.

The postseason honors continue to mark an important step forward for the Hawks in just their second season of competition and first year competing in the GLVC. With a conference Coach of the Year honor, five all-conference selections, and a sportsmanship award, Quincy enters the postseason with momentum as the program continues to build.

The Hawks will be back in action tomorrow morning in the first-ever GLVC STUNT Tournament when they take on second-seeded Trevecca Nazarene University at 9:00 AM from the O'Reilly Family Event Center on the campus of Drury University.
