INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Quincy University men's lacrosse standout
Eli Cowan has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon. The honor marks the first Offensive Player of the Week award of Cowan's career and the first for a Quincy player since
Haakon Steen earned the recognition on February 17, 2025.
Cowan delivered a clutch performance in the Hawks' thrilling 14-13 overtime victory over William Jewell, recording six total points on two goals and four assists to lead the Quincy offense.
The sophomore's biggest moment came in the closing seconds of regulation. With the Hawks trailing and time winding down, Cowan found the back of the net with just five seconds remaining, tying the game and forcing overtime.
Cowan continued to play a key role in the extra period, assisting on the game-winning goal to secure the victory for Quincy. In addition to his offensive production, he also contributed one ground ball in the contest. The performance highlights Cowan's growing impact on the Hawks' attack and helped propel Quincy to one of its most dramatic wins of the season.
Cowan and the Hawks will return to action next Monday, March 16, when they travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to take on Holy Family University. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM CT.
