INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced Monday that Quincy University's
Ryne Jacobsen has been named GLVC Defensive Player of the Week following a standout performance in the Hawks' two-match sweep of Kentucky State.
Competing in their first season as members of the GLVC, Jacobsen becomes the first Hawk in program history to earn the conference's Defensive Player of the Week recognition.
Jacobsen anchored Quincy's defense with five total blocks (0.83 per set) and 12 digs (2.00 per set) across six sets. He also contributed offensively with 17 kills (2.83 per set), while adding two service aces and two assists. In the second match of the series, Jacobsen recorded single-match career highs with nine kills, seven digs, and four blocks.
Jacobsen and the Hawks return to action Thursday, February 26, when they travel to Miami Shores, Florida, to face Barry University. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM CT.
