ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Hawks fell to the eleventh-ranked Division III program in Washington University in St. Louis, 219–59, on Saturday afternoon at the WashU Natatorium.
Despite the setback, Quincy turned in several strong individual performances, highlighted by a dominant day from
Olga Pucarevic. Pucarevic swept her individual events, winning the 100 backstroke in 59.84 and the 100 butterfly in 57.84. She also anchored the Hawks' 200 free relay team to a first-place finish, teaming up with
Megan Schill,
Shelby Smith, and
Cassie Rankin to post a time of 1:42.38.
The Hawks also saw season and personal bests throughout the meet.
Kaitlynn Malarney recorded a season-best time of 11:41.46 in the 1000 freestyle, while
Ellie Benjamin posted a season best of 2:20.16 in the 200 backstroke.
Megan Schill added a personal-best swim in the 100 freestyle, touching the wall in 55.74.
Quincy will return to action on Saturday, January 31, when the Hawks face William Jewell in their final dual meet of the season before the GLVC Championships. First event is scheduled for 1:00 PM from Kresge Pool in Liberty, Missouri.
