Lincoln, Neb. - The Quincy University women's bowling team traveled to Nebraska for a top-tier competition this weekend (Feb. 21-23). The Hawks faced multiple nationally-ranked teams, but ended the weekend averaging 128 pins a game.
Hayden Bennett led the Hawks with a 734 total in four games with the Hawks, averaging 183 pins dropped per game. She opened and closed with her best scores, 192 and 191, respectively.
Hannah Herdklotz ranked just behind her at 25th in the pool, scoring 694 total points this weekend over four games. Herdklotz was consistent through the tournament, posting games of 180, 178, and 177 for three of her four matches.
Shelby Smith, Elisa Armentia Moliner, and Miranda Kraan helped the Hawks out in the competition. Smith posted 467 pins in four games, Armentia Moliner just behind her with 396 pins, and Kraan followed behind with 328.
In the championship round, the Hawks were slated against the University of Central Missouri for game one. The Hawks scored 529 points, but fell to the Jennies. Quincy then played Valparaiso University in the next round. The Beacons were too much for the Hawks, winning 819-555.
The Hawks have a short break before heading to Nashville for the Music City Invite on March 14-16.
