Hawks Blank Southwest Baptist for Seventh Straight Win

BOLIVAR, Mo. — The Quincy University women's soccer team (8-1-2, 7-0-1 GLVC) continued their dominant run on Saturday afternoon, collecting their seventh shutout of the season in a 2–0 road victory over Southwest Baptist (3-9-1, 1-7-1) at SBU Soccer Field. The result stretched Quincy's winning streak to seven while keeping the Hawks unbeaten in conference play.

The Hawks wasted no time grabbing momentum as Rebecca Rheinheimer broke through just 2:04 into the contest. The quick tally marked Rheinheimer's third consecutive match with a goal and set the tone as Quincy carried possession and dictated tempo throughout the opening half.

In the second half, Quincy's persistence paid off again when Faith Niebrugge found the back of the net in the 64th minute, capitalizing on a pass from Rheinheimer. The insurance tally doubled the Hawks' lead and provided the cushion they needed to see out the match.

The Hawks' back line delivered another strong showing, anchored by 90-minute efforts from Gracie Vierra, who reached that mark for the sixth time this season, and Monica Shupe, who played the full match for the second time in the last three contests. Their consistency helped limit Southwest Baptist despite the Bearcats producing 19 shots on the afternoon.

Freshman goalkeeper Devin Tracy turned in the best performance of her young career, recording a career-high 10 saves while securing her seventh shutout of the season. Her efforts frustrated the Bearcats' forwards time and again and preserved Quincy's clean sheet streak. Quincy finished the game with 13 shots of their own, six of which were on frame, and earned a 7–5 edge in corner kicks while applying steady offensive pressure.

The Hawks will now return home to Legends Stadium for their next contest, welcoming Drury University on Friday, October 17 at 5:00 PM in a special Breast Cancer Awareness Game as GLVC play continues.
