Biography

2024 (Sophomore at Garden City Community College): As a sophomore, Newton led the team in goals (18), assists (20), and points (56). Her 20 assists were a record-breaking amount at Garden City. Against Redlands Community College (8/24/24), Jessica had a career game, scoring five goals and dishing out five assists for 15 total points, all resulting as single-game highs at Garden City. She had another five-assist game in a win over Trinidad State College (10/5/24), where she also scored three goals herself to total 11 points.

2023 (Freshman at Garden City Community College): In her first collegiate season, Jessica was second on the team in goals (9) and points (27), and led the team with nine assists across 20 games, starting in all of them. She made her collegiate debut against Southeastern Community College (9/17/23), where she scored her first career goal and also dished out three assists, one of three games on the season with multiple assists. Newton had her first career game-winner, scoring on a penalty kick in a 3-2 win over Seward County (9/6/23).

Personal: Jessie Newton hails from Liverpool, England, and is a graduate of Broughton Hall High School. The daughter of Sheila and Peter Newton, she has one sibling, Sophie. Jessie spent 1.5 years at Garden City Community College and half a year at Southern Utah University before transferring to QU.

Her football background is extensive and impressive; Jessie played academy football with Liverpool FC Women from the age of 5 to 18 and served as team captain throughout her tenure. Among her career highlights is winning the Women’s FA Plate with Liverpool in 2022.

Outside of soccer, Jessie enjoys spending time in the gym and coaching the sport she loves. She looks up to Steven Gerrard and continues to support her lifelong favorite club, Liverpool FC.

Why QU?
I chose QU because I believe Coach Taylor Reis plans to achieve and do great things at Quincy, and I want to contribute to the program with great potential.
