Quincy, Ill. - The Quincy University football team secured their first conference win of the season over Lincoln University on Saturday (Sept. 7), giving Coach
Jason Killday his first ever career win as a head coach.
Teon Dollard led the Hawks with three touchdowns in the 46-5 win.

Garrett Drew on the Hawks' second drive of the game that pushed the Hawks 44 yards closer to the end zone. Lincoln's defense halted the Hawks in field goal distance, relying on
Michael Owens' field goal attempt to add three points to the scoreboard.Â
Quincy found success in long runs in the second quarter, the first coming from
Aniik Mckenzie who went 41 yards up the right side of the field.
Kareem Carswell took the ball another 23 yards before
Teon Dollard brought the ball home for the Hawks first touchdown of the game. Dollard started off the next drive for the Hawks with a 20-yard run up the right side and finished the same drive with a run into the end zone.
The run that had players and fans on their feet at the Rock came from Anthony Gilpin, Jr. when he posted a 46-yard punt return, setting the Hawks up at Lincoln's 29-yard line with a minute to go before halftime. Gilpin, Jr. completed the touchdown, giving the Hawks a 25-0 lead at halftime.Â
Lincoln made it on the scoreboard after forcing a safety on Quincy's 1-yard line, but it did not take long for the Hawks to widen the score gap. Quincy's fourth touchdown was all Dollard as he rushed 80 total yards, including a 67-yard house run, giving the Hawks now a 30-point lead.Â
Carswell, the team's second highest rusher, made a 57-yard run up the middle for the Hawks' next touchdown. The transfer from Tusculum ran for 116 yards and averaged 8 per run in his Quincy debut.Â
Garrett Drew sealed the deal for the Hawks with a 32-yard run toward the end of game. Drew led the team with four receptions on 86 yards.Â
Drake Davis went 20-24 on 267 yards and was credited for two touchdowns in his first game of the season.
Trajen Thornton led the Hawks in tackles with five.Â
Alex Schattin and Owens handled the kicking for the Hawks on Saturday; Schattin averaged 43.5 yards a punt and Owens went 5-6 in extra point attempts and completed a 21-yard field goal.Â
The Hawks will travel to Missouri S&T on September 21st for a 1pm Saturday showing in Rolla, Missouri.Â
