Biography

2024 (Senior): As a senior, Owens was 8-10 on field goal attempts and 27-30 on PATs, totaling 51 points on the season. Michael hit a career-long 46-yard field goal in a dominant win over the Bearcats of McKendree (10/5/24).

2023 (Junior): In his first season with QU, Michael was 7-13 on field goal attempts and 41-42 on PATs for a total of 62 points on the season, which was second on the team. He made his debut in a Hawk uniform against Chadron State, where he was a perfect 4-4 on PATs. He hit a season-long 45-yard field goal in a 41-28 win over William Jewell (10/14/23).

2022 (Sophomore at Pearl River CC): In his second season with Pearl River, Owens was 4-6 on field goal attempts and 25-26 on PATs. He hit a season-long 40-yard field goal in a win over Copiah-Lincoln Community College (10/13/22) and went 7-7 on PATs against Holmes Community College (9/1/22).

2021 (Freshman at Pearl River CC): In his first collegiate season, Owens went 6-11 on field goals and 19-23 on PATs for a total of 37 points. He connected on his first career field goal against Coahoma Community College (9/9/21), knocking in a 26-yarder. His season-long came against Hinds Community College (10/28/21), executing a 34-yard field goal.

Personal: Michael Owens, a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, attended Oak Grove High School, where he excelled on the football field as a kicker and punter for the Warriors. He was a key contributor to the team’s success, helping lead them to the Class 6A State Championship during the 2020–2021 season. Individually, Michael earned numerous accolades including All-State Kicker, All-State Punter, First Team Special Teams, First Team All-Area Kicker, and First Team All-Region Kicker. Off the field, he was recognized for his academic achievements with All-State Academic and All-State Honors awards. After high school, he spent two seasons at Pearl River Community College before transferring to Quincy University. He is the son of Danny and Katie Owens and has a brother named Aiden Owens. In his free time, Michael enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
