QUINCY, Ill. - Quincy University announced former Hawks assistant,
Devin Walker as the new head men's volleyball coach on Wednesday morning (May 1). Walker takes the reigns after serving as an assistant under former skipper,
Caren Kemner, for the two previous seasons.
Prior to serving as an assistant at Quincy, Walker was the head coach at Culver Stockton College just across the river in Canton, Missouri. During his single season at the helm in 2022, he led the Wildcats to their best record in three seasons.
Leading up to his time coaching at Culver Stockton, Walker acted as the head coach at Stephens College, also for a single season, during the COVID-filled 2020 campaign.
Ahead of coaching at Stephens College, Walker served as an assistant at Central Methodist in Fayette, Missouri. During his time at CMU, Walker helped the Eagles improve to a second place regular season finish in the Heart of America Conference while also capturing a conference tournament title and a top-10 national ranking.
Before coaching at Central Methodist, Walker spent time as an assistant for both the men's and women's volleyball programs at Missouri Valley College along with serving as the head coach at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri, both for a single season.
During his tenure as an assistant coach at QU, Walker has helped mentor two All-MIVA selections as well as the program's first All-American selection this last season.
