23 Goals Propel Hawks to Big Win Over ASU

ALAMOSA, Colo. - The Hawks played their first of two matches while on the road in Colorado at Adams State University on Thursday afternoon (Mar. 14). Quincy scored early and often, finding nylon on 23 occasions while QU goalkeeper, Ryan Riggs, crossed the 600 save plateau for his career in a 23-8 win over the Grizzlies.

The Hawks were cooking from the get-go, putting up six scores in less than four minutes from six different goal-scorers. Mason Marano, Ray Lingard, Blaine Lowrance, Gage Evans, Caidyn Prediger and Jayme Brain all found the net one after the next until Prediger broke the streak with his second to make it 7-0.

Defender, Jared Fournier, found the back of the net before a pair of ASU goals put the Grizzly's on the board. Caleb Hensley added another goal in the final minute to put Quincy ahead 9-2 after the first 15.

Adams State scored a little under three minutes into the game before Lowrance scored a man-down goal for his second. ASU added two more goals, sandwiched around a Jordan Ernst, to trail 11-5. John Jennings and Caleb Czarny scored a pair to close out the first half with a 13-5 Hawks advantage.

Quincy was absolutely dominant for the first 11 or so minutes of the third, scoring seven unanswered goals to effectively put the contest away early before a late ASU goal pulled the score to 20-6. Lowrance, Eli Cowan, Austin Vetter, Jennings, Ernst and back-to-back from brothers Usher with the first going to Colin and the second to Sean concluded the Hawks goal-scorers during the third quarter.

Ernst scored a pair to open the fourth quarter with four goals and a 22-6 advantage for his team. The Grizzlies answered with a score before Neal Dardis joined the fun with the finals Hawks goal of the contest. An Adams State goal in the final minute of the contest wrapped up a 23-8 winner for QU.
