Owensboro, KY- The Quincy University women's golf team wrapped up the 2024 fall season at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational. Senior Karlie Schnepp led the hawks with an 8th place finish, she helped the team finish in 6th place out of ten other teams with an overall score of 635 (323-312). There were two rounds played on the 18-hole course.
Schnepp's score of 154 (78-76) gave her an edge over most competitors and led to her best finish this season. She was on par for a majority of the course. On Hole 2 both rounds Schnepp earned birdies. She did it again on hole 3 in round 1, and once more on hole 14 in round 2. Three other competitors tied Schnepp for 8th place Alba Camps from McKendree University, Alexandria LeCureux from Gannon University, and Lauren Gervais from Davenport University.Â
Next for the Hawks was Junior Addison Eades, who earned a score of 157 (81-76). This slotted her into 14th place, tying two other golfers: Maddie Vanderheyden from Maryville University and Thailee Gerding from Davenport University. Eades' performance was aided by five birdies on holes 1 and 11 in round 1 and on holes 4, 8, and 11 in round 2.Â
The next Hawk on the board was Ellissa Warren, she and Chloe Davidson of Maryville University tied for 30th. Her score of 163 (85-78) was largely on par with four birdies as well, two in round 1 on holes 12 and 14. Then again in round 2 on holes 1 and 11.Â
This tournament concluded the fall tournaments for the Hawks, however, this is not all for this team. Competitions will pick back up once again this spring for the 2025 season.
