Wichita, Kan. - The Quincy University bowling teams stood out again this weekend (Oct. 19-20) at the Mid States Championships. The men placed 9th in a field of 33 teams and the women finished 25th.
Women's Results
The Hawks finished with a 5,787 total score over 6 games.
Hayden Bennett performed exceptionally well for the Hawks with a 10th place finish at 1,663 total pin fall. Senior
Jessica Ladd finished with a 982 total, averaging 163 pins per game.
Hannah Herdklotz was not too far behind Ladd with a 960 total. Rounding out the Hawks was freshman
Riley Meehan who finished with a 752 total for the weekend.
Men's Results
The men posted their program's best finish in a Tier 1 event this weekend with a 8,733 total score as a team.
Zakery Grosvenor,
Cayden Thoms, and Tony Lundy were the mainstays in the competition, going all six games. Witt finished in the top-20 with a 1,256 score, averaging over 209 pins dropped per game.Thoms stayed close behind with a 1,157 total for the weekend. Lundy rounded out averaging 188 per game and finished in the top 20 percent of bowlers.
Trevor Dodd was the final Hawk to place in the top-100 athletes with a 178 average over two games.
Connor Meegan competed in four games averaging 197 pins per game while
Caden Witt finished with a total 596 pins over three games.
Nathan Massey and Tyler Wojcik rounded out the Hawks with 170 and 140 average pin falls respectively.
The men prepare to travel to Indiana for the Boilermaker Classic while the women get an extra week before traveling to St. Charles to compete in Lindenwood's Lions Match Play Classic in two weeks.
