Springfield, Mo. - The Quincy University men's soccer program put four goals up on the scoreboard against the Drury University Panthers on Sunday (Oct. 20). Four different Hawks had a hand in the 4-0 score.
Joao Pedro Amaral secured the 1-0 lead early in the game off a ball knocked around the box; Pedro Amaral hit a volley into an open near post just ten yards out from the goal.
Leo Cann sent the initial ball in and was credited with the assist.
The Hawks defended three corner kicks in a row before taking the ball to the other end.
Josh Nswosu received the ball from
Carter Venvertloh at the top of the box with two Panthers on his tail. Nswosu took the ball to the left side and hit the ball unbalanced just under the crossbar for the Hawks second goal of the game.
Matheus Loreto scored off a corner kick from Pedro Amaral to start off the second half. With the third goal, the Panthers tried harder on the offense and forced Hawks goalkeeper
George Roke to make three saves in the next fifteen minutes.
Quincy sealed the deal with Cann's goal in the 65th minute. Cann broke free on a through pass from Nswosu and took the ball 40 yards and slotted the ball to the near post.
Roke had five saves in the contest and secured his third shutout of the season.
