QUINCY, Ill. – The Hawks and Drury University Panthers went head-to-head in two pitchers' duels at the Mart Heinen Softball Complex on Saturday, April 8th. The Panthers took game by the score of 2-1, while the Hawks earned the split with a 2-1 win in game 2.
Game 1
The Panthers got the first run of the game on an RBI double to right center with two runners on base. They added an insurance run in the top of the 3rd on an RBI single up the middle with two outs in the inning.
The Hawks got on the board in the bottom of the 6th as
Casey Brennan reached on an error by the 3rd baseman, which scored
Jayle Jennings.

Game 2
After a quiet first 2 innings, the Hawks' bats came to life as
Allison Kaiser reached with an infield single. Jennings followed that up with a double to left center that moved Kaiser to 3rd base. On a 2-2 pitch,
Taylor Downen deposited a ball over the right center field wall for a 3-run home run. That was Downen's team leading 5th of the season.
Drury answered back in the next half inning with a solo home. The rest of the game, Brooklyn Fischer would only allow 3 baserunners the rest of the game.
