Hawks Blow Out Rams 20-4

QUINCY, Ill.- The Quincy University Men's Lacrosse team hosted the Rams of Cornell College on Wednesday night (March 8th) at the Rock. The Hawks would blow out the Rams 20-4. 

The Hawks started the scoring off early in the first quarter when Donald Griffith found the back of the net at the 11:09 minute mark. Back to back goals by Caidyn Prediger and Jack Whalon less than 10 seconds apart would give QU an early 3-0 lead. Jayme Brain would score one last goal in the first quarter for Quincy as they ended the quarter with a 4-2 lead. 

QU would score first in the second quarter as Mason Marano scores a goal 90 seconds into the quarter. Two minutes later Nick Woodworth would find the back of the net and extend the Hawks lead to 6-2. 

Mason Marano would tie the program record for total goals in a single season at the 5:54 minute mark in the second quarter and Jayme Brain would score and break this record less than two minutes later. The Hawks would go into half with a 13-2 lead. 

Donald Griffith would score his third goal of the game 3 minutes into the third quarter. Nick Woodworth would also score his third goal of the game at the 9:43 minute mark to extend the QU lead to 15-3. 

Quincy would once again waste no time scoring as Jordan Ernst would score 1 minute into the fourth quarter and extend the QU lead to 17-4. Christian Czarny would score Quincy's final goal of the game with 2 minutes remaining and give the Hawks a 20-4 win.

The Hawks will be back in action on Saturday (March 11th) in Montevallo, Alabama to play against the University of Montevallo. Start time is set for 1:00 pm.
