MONTEVALLO, Al.- The Quincy University Men's Lacrosse team traveled down to Alabama on Saturday (March 11th) to play against University of Montevallo. The Hawks would battle but would end up coming just short and lose this one 11-13. 

Quincy University would waste no time getting on the board as Jordan Ernst would score 90 seconds into the game giving QU the early 1-0 lead. After trading goals, Jordan Ernst would score back to back goals towards the end of the first quarter to give the Hawks a 4-2 lead, a last second goal by the Falcons would make it 4-3 Hawks at the end of the first quarter.

After the Falcons would tie the game up in the second quarter Jayme Brain would find the back of the net two times in a row to give Quincy a 6-4 lead. The Falcons would once again tie the game up with back to back goals of their own but Jayme Brain would score his third goal of the game at the 6:57 minute mark to give QU the lead 7-6. Two more Falcons goals would give them the 8-7 lead heading into halftime. 

University of Montevallo would go on a 5-1 run in the third quarter. Three goals in the fourth quarter for the Hawks thanks to Jayme Brain, Blaine Lowrance, Donald Griffith would cut the Hawks deficit down to 11-13 but QU could not tie the game up and ended up losing this battle 11-13. 

Quincy University would look to bounce back on Tuesday (March 14th) when they travel down to Florida to play against Flagler College. The game is set to start at 6:00 pm.
