QUINCY, Ill. – The Hawks hosted the Monmouth College Fighting Scots on Wednesday, March 1st at QU Stadium. Sixteen different Hawks found the back of the net as they set a program record for goals in a game with the 30-5 win.
Jayme Brain got the scoring started early as he found the back of the net just 23 seconds in. QU was averaging more than a goal per minute as it was 6-1 after five minutes into the contest. The rout was on after the first quarter with the Hawks leading 12-1. Donald Griffith had a hat trick in the opening quarter.
The QU lead quickly grew in the second quarter as they outscored Monmouth College 9-0 in the quarter. The 9 goals were scored in the first nine minutes as it became 21-1 at the half.
The Hawks added nine more goals in the second half to score a program record 30 goals in the contest.
