Hawks Finish Home Slate Downed by Tritons

Quincy, Ill. - The Quincy University women's soccer program finished its 2023 home slate on Sunday (Oct. 22) against the University of Missouri - St. Louis Tritons. Though the Hawks were looking to finish at Jack Mackenzie field on a high note, they lost 5-0 to the Tritons.

The story seemed too similar for the Hawks on Sunday as they were down 2-0 within ten minutes, similar to their Friday night matchup against McKendree. In fact, the games look almost identical in the first halves, with a third goal for UMSL happening in the 35th minute, McKendree scoring in the 37th.

The Hawks offense needed a push for the second half, but faltered with zero shots on net. The Tritons scored another two goals in the final half, finishing the game 5-0.

Junior Julia Mincher had another 10 save performance, her third game with over 9 saves.

The Hawks haven't lost hope yet. Seated at the ten-spot, the Hawks will need two wins next weekend to be considered for the GLVC Conference Tournament. The Hawks will face Indianapolis and Lewis on the road, Indianapolis one spot ahead and Lewis seated in fourth.
