BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Quincy University men's volleyball team got swept in its first game of the day on Friday (Jan 20) versus Lincoln Memorial University 25-18. 25-23, 25-13 and also fell in straight sets (25-19, 25-15, 25-23) in their second game of the day against University of Charleston.

Set 1
LMU took a 7-2 lead in the first set, and then extended their lead to 16-7. QU used a 4-0 run to close the deficit to just five points at 16-11 in the opening frame, but ultimately dropped the set but 7 points after only swimming .148.

Set 2
After committing seven errors in the opening set, the Hawks hit .391 in the second frame with 11 kills with only two errors on 23 attempts. It was a back and forth set until QU used a 3-0 run to go ahead by four a 16-12. QU then led 20-16, but LMU answered with four consecutive points to tie it at 20-20. It was tied at 22-22 but LMU scored three of the next four points to close out the set.
Eddie Jakubauskas got a kill to make it 24-23 in favor of LMU but that is as close as the Hawks would get as LMU clinch the set victory on the ensuing point.

Set 3
Quincy limited Lincoln Memorial to .304 attack percentage in the third frame, which was the lowest total for LMU during the game, but QU only managed seven kills during the stanza and dropped the frame by 12 points as LMU rallied to score the final 10 points of the set unanswered to clinch the victory.

Set 1
The opening set against the Golden Eagles was tightly contest and tied at 8 in the early going. UC found offensive traction and went on a 5-1 run to take the 13-9 lead. The Hawks would get back to within 14-13 thanks to a
Keegan Carey service ace, but that was the closest they would get as the Golden Eagles took the opening set by the score of 25-19.
Set 2
After a kill by
Raje Alleyne and an ace by Carey to tie the 2
nd set at 4, the Golden Eagles used a 9-3 run to break the set open at 13-7. The Hawks called a timeout, but UC extended their lead thanks to a 5-2 run to make it 18-9. The Golden Eagles hit .545 in the set with 14 kills.
Set 3
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 4-1 lead looking for the sweep. The Hawks would score the three of the next four points to get to within 5-4. In the midway point of the set, the Hawks took a 13-12 lead thanks to a 4-0 run. UC finished off the set by winning 25-23 to clinch the sweep.
