Hawks to Send First Track Athlete in Program History to the NCAA Outdoor National Championship Meet

Quincy, Ill. – The Quincy University Track and Field team is sending one sprinter to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Allendale, Michigan. The championships are taking place on the campus of Grand Valley State University on May 27th and 28th.

The Hawk representative will be Herman Chongwain in the Men's 100 meter dash. The Belmont, Ohio native qualified with a time of 10.35, which he ran during the finals of the Culver – Stockton Wildcat Open. He is scheduled to run in the preliminary heat at 5:10 PM (central time).

The top 2 runners from each of the 3 preliminary heats, plus the next three best times will advance to the finals.

Chongwain will be the first Hawk to compete at the outdoor championships.
