Crimson Wave Prove Too Much for the Hawks

QUINCY, Ill. – The Calumet College of St. Joseph Crimson Wave scored 46 points on the Hawks at QU Stadium to come away with the convincing victory of 46-7.

The Crimson Wave got on the board first with the first of three touchdown passes from Blaze Cano as he found Lauren Ruth from 8 yards out. With a second left in the opening quarter, Cano found Claijuan Cash to put the Crimson Wave up 13-0. Jaquan Bridges would pick off a Nick Manzo pass in the end zone to put the score at 20-0 CCSJ.

The Crimson Wave added a 20 yard field goal as time expired in the first half to go up 4 scores on the Hawks. QU would try to gain some traction as Cordell Walker blocked a punt and returned it 27 yards for the score.

Unfortunately for the Hawks, CCSJ would score just 2 minutes later to make it 30-7 on a yard run. Midway through the 3rd quarter, Cano fired his 3rd TD of the afternoon from 36 yards out to put the Crimson Wave up 36-7.

CCSJ would add a field goal and another touchdown in the 4th quarter to finish off the scoring.

The Hawks will host Fontbonne University next week for their final home game at 1:00 p.m.
