QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University tennis teams both won over William Jewell College on Friday afternoon. The women swept the Cardinals 7-0, while the men won by forfeit. 

Laila Leist-Alston and Steffi Lao continued their dominance by each sweeping their singles matchups 6-0, 6-0. Makaela Hampton won in the two slot 6-2, 6-0, and Noni Updyke won the number four's match 6-2, 6-3. The last two singles matches were won via default. 

In doubles, Leist-Alston and Nicole Lao swept Jewell 6-0 in the top duo match, and Steffi Lao paired with Hampton won the number two doubles contest 6-3. 

The QU men won by forfeit as the Jewell men's team was unable to compete due to COVID concerns. 

Quincy tennis will be back on the court tomorrow (April 17) with another league matchup as Rockhurst comes to town.
