ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Quincy University men's volleyball team took on another ranked opponent on Friday night (March 26) when they faced off with No. 5 Lewis. The Hawks lost 25-14, 25-17, 25-12.
It was tough sledding against the Flyers who rank in the top five nationally in both hitting percentage (5th) and blocks per set (2nd). The Lewis' middle was able to fend of Quincy's attack and held QU to a .103 hitting percentage. Offensively, Lewis was able to pull away in sets one and three and hit .442 as a team for the contest.
Michael Ladner had nine kills for the Hawks, and
Omari Wheeler added six.
Yoran Raymaekers collected fifteen assists, and
Eddie Jakubauskas led the team with five digs.
Quincy will face Lewis once more tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. in their final road game of the 2021 season.
