Biography
2020 (Senior): Played in 18 matches and started 16 as Second Team All-Conference selection. He ranked fourth in the MIVA in kills per set (3.54) as he led the team in kills with 202. Finished third on the team in digs with 79, totaled 36 blocks, and five service aces.
2019 (Junior): Appeared in 25 matches while making 25 starts. He recorded a total of 375 points with 334 kills. He accumulated eight assists, 17 service aces in the 87 sets that he played.
2018 (Sophomore): Appeared in 19 matches and made nine starts. Recorded 82 kills, six service aces, 66 digs, and 15 blocks.
2017 (Freshman): Played in 27 matches as an outside hitter while making nine starts. Recorded 110 kills, seven assists and two service aces. Also recorded 60 digs and 27 blocks.
Background
Wheeler is a Biology major at Quincy University from Las Vegas, NV. Wheeler is the son of Chris & Yvette Wheeler. As a graduate of Legacy High School, Omari was a part of the volleyball team playing under the direction of head coach Ray Lewis. He helped the team become the 2014 volleyball State Champions. Wheeler is a two-time Second Team All-MIVA selection in 2020 and ranked second in kills per set in 2019.
