ST. CHARLES, MO - The Quincy University men's volleyball team took to the road to face Lindenwood University on Friday night (March 12). The Hawks fell behind two sets to none, won the third set, then dropped the fourth set 25-17, 25-19, 25-20, and 25-18.
1st Set
The Lions scored the first four points to take a 4-0 lead. Omari Wheeler scored the first point for the Hawks with a kill to make it 4-1. The Hawks tied the score, 6-6, and then took the lead right after. Down the stretch, QU led 15-14, but the Lions ended the opening set on an 11-2 run to win 25-17.
2nd Set
Quincy trailed the entire second set and lost 25-19 after posting a .188 hitting percentage.
3rd Set
At the beginning of the set, the Hawks took the lead after a service error by Lindenwood to make the score 8-7. Quincy did not look back and held the lead for the rest of the third after hitting an impressive .636 percentage with 14 kills and no attacking errors. QU won the set 25-20.
4th Set
The Hawks were unable to maintain their momentum from the previous set and trailed for the entire fourth. Quincy fell 25-18 in the fourth and final set.
