QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University men's volleyball team fell Friday evening (Mar. 19) after forcing four sets against #15 Ball State University. The Hawks dropped the game by scores of 18-25, 15-25, 25-23, and 16-25.
The Hawks struggled offensively hitting in the negatives through the first two sets. Ball State took full advantage on the QU mishaps by taking set one, 25-18 and set two, 25-15.
Momentum shifted the Hawks' way in the third set, as QU got out to a 13-10 lead. This forced a BSU timeout. Out of the break, QU scored four of the next five points pushing their lead to six, which was their their largest of the set. The score was later ied up at 23 apiece, and QU scored the final two points after a Cardinals attacking error was followed by a block from
Nathan Lawton and
Andrea Miotto. The Hawks took set three, 25-23, behind eight team kills.
In the fourth set, QU was hindered by seven attacking errors. Ball State capitalized and took the final set, 25-16.
