QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University men's volleyball team swept Georgetown College (Ky.) in their second match of the year on Thursday (Jan. 21) afternoon. The Hawks hit .279 in the contest and won by scores of 25-15, 25-10, and 25-20. 

The Hawks were efficient on the attack in their non-conference showdown with the Tigers. Omari Wheeler, Eddie Jakubauskas, Zach Reider, and Michael Ladner combined for 23 of QU's 25 kills on the day. Wheeler had seven, Jakubauskas collected six, and Reider and Ladner each had five. The Hawks had 25 kills on 61 total attacks with only eight errors.

Georgetown on the other hand could not get out of their own way after committing 49 total errors in the contest. The Tigers had 29 attacking errors and 13 serving errors helping the Hawks stay firmly in control for all three sets. 

Omari Wheeler and Michael Ladner also led in digs with eight each, and Noam Hannoun contributed seven digs. 

Zach Reider had a day at the net behind two solo blocks and six block assists on the Georgetown attack. Wheeler also had four block assists in the game. 

The Hawks will be back in action again this Saturday (Jan. 23) to take on cross-state rival Culver-Stockton at 7:00 p.m.
