QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University women's basketball team dropped their home opener to Lindenwood University on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 5) by a score of 67-41.
Quincy's freshman guard,
Jazzpher Evans, (Shorewood,IL/ Joliet West) led the Hawks with 14 points while sophomore guard,
Laney Lantz, (Augusta, IL/ Southeastern) added 11. Evans knocked in three triples and also grabbed a team-high four rebounds.
The Hawks started quickly with
Laney Lantz scoring four of the first six points. Lindenwood exchanged buckets and then took an early 9-6 lead.
After the first quarter, the Lions led 15-8.
QU trailed by as much as 18 in the second quarter, but the Hawks closed on an 8-0 run capped off by a three at the buzzer by Evans. At the half, Quincy trailed, 32-22.
Quincy struggled offensively in the second half as the Hawks only converted six made field goals. The 22-point third quarter from the Lions all LU needed to put the game away.
QU dropped the home opener to Lindenwood by a score of 67-41.
