Hawks Take Exhibition Over Lincoln College, 3-1

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University men's volleyball team defeated Lincoln College, 3-1 (25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 25-23), in an exhibition match in Lincoln, Ill. on Thursday (Feb. 12) night.

Junior right-side hitter Chris Chappelle (Los Angeles, Calif./Westchester/San Diego City) led the Hawks with 20 kills and a team-high nine digs. He also put down four service aces and hit .417 on the night.

Sophomore setter Thane Fanfulik (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Darby) dished out 50 assists and had five digs in the match. Sophomore middle Zach Hesterberg (St. Peters, Mo./Fort Zumwalt South) put down eight kills and served up two aces. Redshirt-junior outside hitter Brian Rogan (St. Louis, Mo./Francis Howell North) hit .454 on his way to seven kills.

Freshman middle Matt Sindelar (New Bremen, Ohio) had a team-high 3.5 blocks to go with four kills and three aces. Senior outside Terence Veile (Fairfield, Wash./Liberty) had five kills and junior outside Ben Thomas (Placerville, Calif./El Dorado) added four kills and three digs.

Redshirt-junior libero Tim Hill (St. Louis, Mo./Chaminade) had eight digs and freshman libero Collin Merk (Chicago, Ill./Loyola Academy) added five.

The Hawks return to regular season and MIVA action on Friday (Feb. 13) when they travel to Lindenwood (3-4, 1-3 MIVA) to take on the Lions. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
